ConnexOntario takes calls at 1-866-531-2600 at any hour, every day of the week. The call costs nothing, and what is said stays private. Texting CONNEX to 247247 also works, and connexontario.ca has a chat for those who prefer to type.
In a crisis, the number to call or text is 988, the Suicide Crisis Helpline. That line is also staffed around the clock. Both lines are numbers to keep in a phone before the trip.
A break from every Ontario casino
My PlayBreak is OLG's self-exclusion program. The length of a casino break is 3 or 6 months; a break can also be set at 1 to 5 years. It bars entry to every Ontario casino, Caesars Windsor included. The term is fixed: once chosen, it cannot be changed. A self-excluded person also cannot attend the outlets at Caesars Windsor.
There are three ways to enrol: by phoning 1-800-387-0098, the OLG Support Centre; by asking a staff member at a casino; or by going in person to a PlaySmart Centre.
Online opt-out and PlaySmart
iGaming Ontario runs BetGuard (betguard.ca). In one step, anyone 19 or older can block themselves from each regulated Ontario online gambling site, the government's online casino OLG.ca included. The term can be a custom length, or it can be set at 6 months, at 1 year or at 5 years. Walk-in casinos sit beyond its scope, which means Caesars Windsor is not part of it.
